A Shout Out to the World Cup of Rugby
On our recent trip to Japan, we found hints of the Rugby World Cup to come in Beppu

During our trip to Japan, we spent time in Beppu, near the city of Oita, on the most southern main island of Kyushu.

Beppu was paying tribute to the upcoming World Cup of Rugby, which was schedule less than a year after we were there.

Beppu is a veritable hotbed of geothermal activity. We walked from our AirBnB to the Hoyo Land hot springs for a mud bath onsen. Along the way, we saw pipes inserted into the ground to relieve pressure, all of which were steaming into the air.

Beppu is somewhere we would definitely visit again. It was an absolutely delightful location.
